Powermatic 80, AKA C07.111 , is a “new” movement made by Swatch since 2013, it was based on ETA 2846 (or 2824? I’m not sure).
So why they wanted make a such “new” movement?
The first thing is, C07.111 has 80 hours power reserve, this point is quite positive, 2824’s power reserve is 38 hours, 2892 can get a bit longer up to 42 hours.
Other side, it has lower frequency, 2824 and 2892 have both 4Hz, 07.111 is down to 3Hz.
C07.111 also cut off the regulator which from the Bridge, but there are a couple of screws in the annular Balance that can be used to regulated the balance’s movement.
C07.111 and its variations are only supplied for Swatch owned brands, such as Mido, tissot and hamilton(the low price group), tissot has the raw version (which has 23 Jewels), Mido has a better version(25 Jewels) and hamilton has H10 which is semi-skeletonized C07.111 (25 Jewels). (The rumor is, the raw 07.111 has nylon/plastic parts which don’t need more jewels)
The last thing is, it seems the shock spring has been changed to Novodiac, it was incabloc for those brands.
Why?
